Art In The Simpsons

We have been talking about art for a while. Here's a Simpsons episode that features some of the artists we have seen in class, like Jasper Johns as himself, Andy Warhol, Pablo Picasso, Salvador DalĂ, Leonardo da Vinci or Henri Rousseau, among many others.

Here's the link to the episode:

While watching, answer the following questions:
  1. Which three things does Marge want Homer to do that he has never finished?
  2. What is art according to Astrid Weller (the art galley owner)?
  3. Why does Homer’s success as an artist upset Marge? Mention at least two reasons.
  4. Why does the art scene not like Homer’s new pieces of art anymore when he presents them at the gallery?
  5. According to Lisa what do we need art for?
Please post your answers in the comment section!
